--Thank you for your interest in adopting from Dane County Humane Society!--

Here's how it works:

On the next screen, you'll be able to book a one-hour appointment to visit the shelter and work one-on-one with an Adoption Counselor to find your new best friend. They'll introduce you to animals you are interested in, provide any background information, and answer any questions you may have. If you decide to adopt, most animals can go home with you that same day!

Please note: Your appointment is not a reservation for any animal, so if you are interested in meeting with a specific animal, we strongly suggest checking the website before your appointment to see if they are still available. If the animal you are interested is no longer on the website or has the label "Unavailable for Visits Today", you will not be able to meet with the animal that day. If the animal you are interested in has the label "Available from Foster" then you will need to call the Adoption Center to arrange the meeting.

If you are unable to make it to your appointment or the animals you wanted to meet with are not available, please cancel your appointment. This ensures that we can schedule another adopter in your spot and continue to send animals home. To cancel, you can select the "Manage Booking" button in your confirmation email.

Our appointments book up very quickly so if you don't see any timeslots available, that means we are completely booked.

If you're having trouble finding an available timeslot, we recommend checking back regularly for new appointment slots that open up. We are also currently open to the public so if you do not see any appointments available, you can still stop in and we may be able to accommodate same day meet and greets! Our ability to take walk ins depends on staff availability. Learn more about the process here.
