FTA Heartworm Treatment Disclaimer: Failure to contact us to reschedule and missing your appointment will result in being removed from the program. As a result of being removed from the program, you will be required to make an appointment with your own veterinarian for heartworm treatment. An officer will be following-up and enforcement action may be taken as a result for failure to comply.

Kitten Foster Medical Appointment Disclaimer: Please be advised that vaccine appointments can be booked later than the “assigned” date but never earlier. If there is a medical emergency, call 704-336-3001 and bring the kitten(s) into the facility. Failure to contact us to reschedule and missing your appointment may result in being removed from the program and the kitten(s) being brought back to the facility. Not making appointments for your kitten(s) and showing up outside of scheduled times for non-emergencies may also result in being removed from the program and the kitten(s) being brought back to the facility.

Owner Surrender Disclaimer: Bring a copy of your pet's veterinary records and photo identification. Only the legal owner of an animal may surrender. We CANNOT accept pets from family members or friends. The owner MUST be a current resident of Mecklenburg County (if your license does not list a Mecklenburg County address, please bring proof of residency). At time of surrender, the owner must also present a driver's license or government issued picture ID. Be sure that dogs are on leashes and cats or other small animals are in carriers. If your animal has bitten or broken skin in the last 10 days, please let us know so we can follow the proper steps to protect your pet and others.

HASS Disclaimer: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control reserves the right to discontinue treatment if it is not in the best interest of the pet. The owner can transfer the pet to another facility for continued care or you may sign your pet over to the City of Charlotte and we may provide humane euthanasia or seek alternate placement for the pet at staff’s discretion. Every effort is made to contact the owner in the case of an emergency situation with a pet in our care; however, if consent cannot be obtained, we reserve the right to humanely euthanize the pet if he/she is suffering and the prognosis is grave. Failure to contact Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control within 24 hours of our staff contacting you during your pets stay will be considered abandonment and your signature below will be acknowledged as a written owner surrender. At such time legal ownership of the pet will be transferred to the City of Charlotte. Failure to arrive at your scheduled appointments on time or at all will also remove you from the program without further notice.

Spay/Neuter Disclaimer: Pets must be between 4 months and 7-year BIRTHDAY for the Veterinarian to perform the surgery. If your pet is PAST their 7-year birthday, you may be asked to come in in advance of your surgery appointment for pre-op blood work. There may be an additional charge for these pre-op labs. Failure to contact us to reschedule and missing your appointment may result in being removed from the program or an extended wait for the next available appointment.
