Waitwhile + Allegion: A new chapter begins

We’re excited to share that Waitwhile has been acquired by Allegion plc (NYSE:ALLE), a global leader in security and access technology.

This marks a major milestone in our journey — and an even bigger step toward a future where in-person service just works: seamless, intelligent, and built around the customer. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our journey to here.

A shared vision for better experiences

Back in 2017, Jonas and I started Waitwhile with a simple idea: what if waiting in line didn’t have to suck?

Every year, people waste over a trillion hours waiting. In lines. In lobbies. For services that could be smoother, smarter, and more human.

Waitwhile was born from a belief that this kind of friction is solvable — and that technology, when done right, can make physical experiences just as elegant as digital ones. That mission now enters a new chapter with Allegion.

Allegion is a global pioneer in security and access technology, trusted by Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, airports, schools, and government institutions around the world. Best known for brands like CISA®, Interflex®, LCN®, Schlage®, SimonsVoss® and Von Duprin®, Allegion has a portfolio of hardware, software and electronic solutions that spans residential and commercial locks, door closer and exit devices, steel doors and frames, access control and workforce productivity systems. They design and build critical physical infrastructure that enables secure, seamless movement through spaces – as well as offer the software and services that support it.

With Waitwhile, they’re expanding that leadership to include even more of the digital layer of the customer experience — orchestrating how people schedule, check in, wait, and get served.

Together, we’ll help organizations deliver connected, efficient, and more human service experiences.

Why now?

Over the past decade, Waitwhile has grown from a side project to a platform used by over 10,000 businesses across 50,000+ locations — powering more than 300 million customer visits and enabling billions in service revenue.

We’ve done it with a small, nimble team and an ambitious roadmap. But we’ve always known that to truly solve the significant and universal problem of reducing friction and improving conversion within the service orchestration space, we’d need a partner who shares our long-term vision and can help us scale it globally. That partner is Allegion.

What’s changing — and what’s not

  • Waitwhile stays a standalone brand and product, led by the same team and built on the same roadmap.
  • We now have greater reach, more resources, and stronger infrastructure to deliver what’s next, faster.
  • No changes to existing product offering, contracts or support for our customers.
  • More investment in what matters: from regional hosting to AI-driven features to deeper platform integrations.

What’s coming next

  • Faster delivery of our product roadmap, including AI-powered scheduling, enterprise-grade flexibility, industry-specific solutions and wider integration capabilities.
  • New ways to connect digital service flows with the physical world — from doorways to kiosks to staff handoffs.
  • Expanded infrastructure and global support to match the scale of our largest customers.

    And we're just getting started.

Looking ahead

If you’re a Waitwhile customer, thank you. You’ve helped us shape a platform that’s now ready to scale to the next level.

If you’re new to Waitwhile, welcome. If you’ve ever waited in line — or run a business where time and experience matter — we’re building this next chapter for you.

We’re incredibly grateful to our customers, team, and community for getting us here. And we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
